The Gwinnett County Police Foundation is nonprofit charitable organization comprised of civic leaders from the community whose primary purpose is to provide charitable and educational services to members of the law enforcement, their families, and the community they serve.
The scholarships are awarded annually to the dependent children of active Gwinnett County Police Department employees and are designed to reward, encourage, and assist students pursuing academic excellence and leadership.
The 2021 scholarship award recipients include:
Two of this year’s scholarships were awarded to the Gwinnett County Chiefs Association for distribution among their applicants. The Chief Association is made up of several police departments within Gwinnett County as well as the Sheriff’s Department. The Gwinnett Chiefs Association will announce their scholarship winners at a later date. The two scholarships that will be awarded are the Officer Jesse Gravitt and Officer Ralph Davis Memorial Scholarships.
Grace Doherty, graduate of North Gwinnett High School and recipient of the Officer Jerry Everett Memorial Scholarship. Grace will be attending The University of Tennessee and is the daughter of Sergeant Jon Doherty.
Ryan Dunaway, graduate of Lambert High School and recipient of the Officer Chris Magill Memorial Scholarship. Ryan will be attending Georgia College and is the daughter of Lieutenant Tim Dunaway.
Tyler Fazenbaker, graduate of Gwinnett School of Math, Science and Technology and recipient of the Officer Antwan Toney Memorial Scholarship. Tyler will be attending the University of Georgia and is the son of Sergeant Larry Fazenbaker.
Isabella Ascenzo, graduate of Buford High School and recipient of the Corporal Mike Duncan Education Scholarship. Isabella will be attending the University of North Georgia and is the son of Sergeant Paul Ascenzo.
